1.People are responsible for their own actions. Neither Disney nor anyone who contributes to The Aftermath is culpable for the actions of others. There are millions of people who watch The Aftermath and many other television shows who do not act in a criminal way. John Hinckley shot President Reagan due to his own motivations, not because of anything Jodi Foster did. Scientology has a blog post in which it lists 10 examples of violence against the organization that it lays at Leah Remini’s feet. I searched each account to determine the veracity of their accusations. Here are my own findings;

2.There is not one documented account of violence or vandalism directed toward Scientology that can be connected to The Aftermath. Scientology has a long history of those angry at the myriad of abuses committed by this cult. The anger directed at Scientology existed long before Leah Remini ever even considered leaving.

1.Respectfully Sir, if you have only recently become aware of The Aftermath one must ask if you have watched it, or if you have researched at all what it is that Scientology is.
The Aftermath is not hateful towards any religion. First of all one must determine what a religion is. Scientology believes that their scripture is the entirety of the writings and lectures of L. Ron Hubbard. This man was a writer of science fiction novels who created his own Creation Story in which he taught his followers that Religion, God and Heaven were all false implants designed to mislead mankind. He was an ardent follower of Alastair Crowley and actively participated in sex magic and the occult. He wrote that he was Lucifer.

2.For years, long before The Aftermath was even conceived there were those who left Scientology devastated by the abuse they suffered. From Hubbard’s own time there were accusations of the abuse of children and cruelty towards his followers. The Aftermath is not a show about hate, but rather a cautionary warning to all from those who experienced a myriad of abuses including the destruction of their family through Scientology’s policy of Disconnection. Be assured, Sir that in spite of what Scientology claims, Disconnection is, indeed a policy and it is in full force.
Leah Remini experienced her own pain and has provided a platform for others who are hurting by an organization that claims to be a “religion”. Those who speak out on The Aftermath reach out to her for help. During the course of The Aftermath people from the Jehovah’s Witnesses reached out to her and begged her to do a show to highlight the abuses they also suffered at the hands of a cult that hides and protects thousands of child molesters and Domestic Abusers.
“This is apparently its third season. A&E’s recent programming persecutes American religions—Scientology, Jehovah’s Witnesses and many other denominations. They say they are “looking” into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Their programming is one-sided and does not attempt to show the other side.”
1.Sir, I would urge you to watch The Aftermath and to familiarize yourself with the organization you are defending. It is NOT a religion. It teaches it’s followers that by working their way through their “Bridge to Total Freedom”, spending thousands of dollars, they will ultimately receive godlike Super Powers. There is no need for God in their group. In fact they teach not to take anything on faith. One does not rely on God but on oneself and they believe that Scientology is the only thing that can save Mankind. Not faith. Not God.
They believe our bodies are inhabited by Thetans. The souls that were left over after a Galactic Overlord named Xenu rounded up the populations of many planets, flew them on airplanes to volcanoes on Earth and blew them up with nuclear bombs. Those souls then were implanted with false images and inhabited the “meat bodies” of people on Earth.
2.Before writing in defense of an organization that makes millions and millions of tax free dollars each year from it’s members who get nothing in return. It would be responsible and enlightening to gain a basic understanding of that which you are defending.
Members are taught that anything bad that happens is their fault, that they have hidden crimes they have not confessed, that they “pulled it in” on themselves. Members are encouraged to over extend their credit, take out second mortgages, and max out their credit cards in order to pay Scientology. Once a member is no longer financially important to Scientology they are left, in many cases, financially destitute.
3.As far as your statement that The Aftermath does not attempt to show the other side. Sir, Scientology is invited to participate in every show that has been aired. Each and every time it declines to do so choosing instead to launch “Fair Game” attacks on those who do appear on the show. Scientology creates websites filled with dishonest, coerced and false information designed to destroy the character of the former members of their organization.
A.Case in point. When Mike Rinder left Scientology he was stalked by private detectives, had his trash stolen and rooted through, he was followed, his family was followed and photographed and his home was put under constant surveillance. Then in April of 2010 his ex-wife and daughter, both still Scientologists, along with several others, hunted Mike down as he sat in the parking lot of a doctor’s office waiting for his girlfriend. They accosted him, screaming expletives at him and attempted to keep him from leaving his car. In the course of this Fair Game attack. The ex-wife was injured. In spite of a police report that clearly states her injury was from “incidental contact” as Mike was trying to remove himself from this frightening assault, a police report that states the ex-wife had one minor injury and no charges were made against Mike, Scientology has accused Mike publicly of being guilty of Domestic Violence. They have created multiple social media sites accusing him of terrible violence and worse.
The fact is that the whole time Mike Rinder was being assaulted the incident was being recorded by BBC Journalist John Sweeney because they had been speaking on the phone when the group approached and began attacking him.
Their account is completely and totally fabricated based upon the recording, a police report and an EMT report. Mike is innocent but that does not stop them from making the most heinous of accusations.
B.This is Fair Game. It is a Scientology Policy that Scientology claims is no longer in effect, however their actions speak louder than any words.
“Fair Game” is a policy letter issued by L. Ron Hubbard in 1967 (ref: HCO Policy Letter of 18 October 1967, Issue IV) called “Penalties for Lower Conditions” which states:
“SP Order. Fair game. May be deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist. May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed.”
“I have worked beside the Church of Scientology for over 25 years when they helped greatly to bring calm during the Rodney King riots, with their tutoring of underserved children, work to get the anti-drug messages out as well as teaching human rights.”
1.Scientology is always careful to show one face to the public and a very different one to their own members. In spite of working beside them, have you ever taken the time to actually be informed as to what it is they teach and represent? Have you looked into their Narconon Program? Narconon is their so-called drug rehabilitation program. In this program they often have former addicts as counselors and the program consists of a dangerous regimen of massive, potentially organ damaging if not fatal, doses of vitamins alongside relentless hours of exercise and time sweating in a sauna. There is absolutely NO medical or scientific evidence that any part of the Narconon treatment is efficacious but there IS evidence that it can be dangerous.
Indeed, just at the Oklahoma facility alone there have been multiple deaths.
2.Part of the actual Narconon treatment book shows the “student” addressing an ashtray sitting on a chair in front of him/her. The “student” is told to command the ashtray to stand up, then he/she lifts the ashtray into the air. After setting the ashtray back on the chair, the “student” then tells the ashtray, “thank you.”
3.A huge part of their anti drug message is the issue of Mental Illness. One only needs look at their sub group, The CCHR to see the false, misleading, biased message that Scientology holds out as facts. The CCHR, or Citizen’s Commission on Human Rights, teaches that in fact, there is no real mental illness. They hold that since there are currently no simple medical tests for diagnostic purposes, mental illnesses are made up conditions just to further Big Pharma.
They are steadily working towards the destruction of Psychiatry in the world. What would this mean for all those suffering from anxiety, depression and other mental illness, Sir?

5.As for human rights, this, too is hypocritical. One might suggest you research what Scientology did to Paulette Cooper and then ask if her rights were championed. One might also ask if Lisa McPherson’s rights were honored when she died of neglect and dehydration.
What about all those being held in The RPF?
Where is Shelley Miscavige, wife of Leader David Miscavige, who has not been seen since 2007?
Free Will is a God given basic human right yet in Scientology one does not have the free will to question what they are being taught. If one questions, then one is labeled as a Suppressive Person and enemy of the Group. As Mike Rinder has said, “the difference between a religion and a cult is what happens when you try to leave.”
Rev. Dr. Murray, you make the accusation that The Aftermath is just one side without allowing the other to be addressed. I would ask if you have taken the time to show the same fairness and God’s mercy to speak to any of those who have been members and have escaped from Scientology? Have you heard them? Have you seen their tears?
“I respectfully request that you look into this from a dispassionate perspective and a broader vision of the world, not just ratings.”
Reverend Doctor Murray, I respectfully request that you look into the realities of Scientology and the darkness of it’s teachings. We are living in a time of great change and where more and more people are being drawn away from God and His light.
Scientology is not a church. It is not a religion. It is a tax free conglomerate hiding behind the shield of religion while leading it’s members away from God into the belief that they can become Infinite and god like all on their own.
It is my sincere and firm belief that you are being used, Sir, to lend credibility, respectability and legitimacy to the cult of Scientology and what they teach and represent at detriment to your own reputation.
I beg you to do your due diligence where Scientology is concerned and learn for yourself who they really are. Evil often masks itself in the guise of goodness but once the surface is scratched the truth is revealed.
Please reconsider your stance against The Aftermath and your defense of Scientology.

I’m also a never in but just can’t believe the protection they receive Footage of Mark Bunker with CWPD was just ridiculous! It makes my blood boil seeing everything they get away with under the guise of being a religion
