An Open Letter to Twitter’s Lead Counsel

I wrote this letter and subsequent blog piece back in 2019. It was an attempt to get Twitter to step up and do the right thing concerning the Scientology accounts that regularly and consistently engage in multiple, blatant violations of stated policy. While quick to suspend anyone else over the most ridiculous things, Scientology is obviously exempt from any rules or any forms of common decency.

Given Leah Remini’s recent comment about her frustrations with Twitter’s lack of response over the egregious harassment and bullying I thought reposting this article would be appropriate.

It is a constant source of bemusement and frustration to me that Twitter steadfastly refuses to address the malicious Fair Game attacks by Scientology. Given that Jack Dorsey apparently has some sort of relationship with the cult I don’t know why I am surprised by the lack of interest twitter support shows.

I decided to try and appeal to Twitter’s Lead Counsel, Vijaya Gadde. As an attorney and an Officer of the Court, Ms. Gadde has, first and foremost, a duty to the law. Given this duty, it is reasonable to then expect that she must hold herself impartial and unbiased when it comes to both the law and the stated policies of the company she represents. She certainly could not be trusted if she was lax in either area.

Two weeks ago I wrote to her asking for a fair hearing concerning the Edward Parkin and Taryn Teutsch accounts. That they are both in blatant violation of the policies we are all held to is indisputable. That they are not being addressed after multiple reports for some reason is irrefutable.

I gave Ms. Gadde two weeks to somehow contact me about the concerns raised in my letter. Since I have heard nothing, which is also the consistent response I receive whenever I report anything Scientology, I am publishing the letter here.

I am posting it here as an open letter now as further documentation that there is a huge disconnect between the written Twitter policies against harassment and bullying and the reality. We have created a petition asking for the @TarynTeutsch account to be removed that garnered over 600 signatures. Others have reported both accounts numerous times. No matter what has been done the accounts still stand. Testimony to the fact that falsely accusing innocent people of high and heinous crimes, even in the face of publicly posted proof of their innocence, is not actionable. Attacking people who are speaking their Truths, their experiences to help others means nothing. The fact that if either Leah Remini or Mike Rinder chose to take this Libel to a courtroom it would be treated as a violation of the Law seems irrelevant. Most importantly, that all of these attacks stem from the fact that both Remini and Rinder choose not to participate in Scientology, which is their right- the right to choose their religion.

Based upon the experiences one cannot help but wonder if the lack of enforcement of policy is due to fear of Scientology’s Fair Game response. One also cannot help but consider that the issue could be with Jack Dorsey and his apparent connection to Scientology. A man cannot serve two masters and if Dorsey is involved with Scientology in any way then there is the potential for a serious conflict of interests.

Either way there is an egregious lack of consequences where Scientology is concerned and this lack does nothing but spur the harassment, hate and bullying on. Recently it has gone so far as to have Edward Parkin actually gloating that he was informed that Leah Remini reported him but nothing was done about it.

So in light of no response or actions taken I post this now as an open letter. An open plea for justice.

Ms Gadde:

I am the owner of the twitter account @Ultioetveritas and the blog referenced above dedicated to exposing the abuses of Scientology.

This letter is to express my disappointment and frustration over the issue of Scientology accounts that are in flagrant violation of Twitter’s posted policy and rules yet do not get removed.

It seems that where the rules are concerned there appears to be a conflict of interests between Jack Dorsey and the posted policy.

The @TarynTeutsch account was specifically designed to achieve the destruction of Mike Rinder’s reputation and career. It was created solely to enable the dissemination of horrible, false harassment in the form of accusations of domestic violence against him. These allegations are provably false. Indeed I am not the only one who has posted irrefutable proof of Mike Rinder’s innocence in the form of the Pinellas County, FL Police Report, an EMT Report and an actual audio recording of the incident this account keeps referencing.

The only reason this account exists is because Rinder fled Scientology and chooses not to participate in this “religion”, instead he speaks out against the abuses he has experienced. As Scientology insists this is a religious issue, harassing Rinder for leaving and exercising his right to free speech is in direct violation of Twitter’s policies against harassment and violation of one’s rights concerning religious belief.

My initial report and many reports afterwards went ignored. Subsequently I got over 600 signatures on a change.org petition asking for this account to be removed. My reasons for the removal are as follows.

Pursuant to your Rules Of Conduct I am hereby formally requesting that the Twitter Account @TarynTeutsch be removed and banned for multiple and blatant violations.

“Abuse and hateful conduct

Abuse: You may not engage in the targeted harassment of someone, or incite other people to do so. We consider abusive behavior an attempt to harass, intimidate, or silence someone else’s voice.

Hateful conduct: You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease. Read more about our hateful conduct policy.

Hateful imagery and display names: You may not use hateful images or symbols in your profile image or profile header. You also may not use your username, display name, or profile bio to engage in abusive behavior, such as targeted harassment or expressing hate towards a person, group, or protected category.”

1. @TarynTeutsch has created both a twitter account and a blog account for the sole purpose of destroying Mike Rinder’s good name and career. She is on an open campaign to have him fired from his career with Disney and A&E Network due solely to his desire to not be affiliated with Scientology, hence he is being harassed, attacked and falsely accused of serious, violent crimes due to his religious affiliation or lack thereof.

2. Mike Rinder is being targeted and accused of Domestic Violence towards his former wife, Cathy Bernadini over a well publicized and documented altercation that took place on April 23, 2010. Not only is there a published Police Report proving his innocence of any crime, but the report clearly states how and how seriously Bernadini was injured.

3. There is ample proof that Teutsch and Bernadini are lying in the many written, ever changing descriptions from them pertaining to what happened on the day in question. The various stories show clearly that they are being dishonest purely with the intent of destroying an innocent man’s reputation. This behavior is clearly harassment under any definition.

4. Not only is @TarynTeutsch herself defaming an innocent man but she is inciting others to join with her to further the damage she is causing by her lies.

5. She is using her twitter name, account and blog to engage in false accusations, targeted harassment, abuse and expressing hate towards him with her unfounded charges.

If she were to succeed in destroying his career, it will have been through this malevolent campaign executed through twitter.

Not once have I received a response from Twitter, nor has anyone else who has reported this account. Per point #4 above, the lack of any follow through by Twitter in enforcing the stated policy concerning the @TarynTeutsch account has encouraged and incited the @EPStandleague account which is also designed for the harassment of Leah, Mike, A&E Network and Disney Corporation. Edward Parkin, the owner of this account accuses all and sundry of bigotry and hate due to Remini and Rinder’s choice not to be part of Scientology. The harassment by Parkin has finally escalated to the point of publicly accusing them of being complicit in the Australian murder that took place at the Scientology Org by “inciting”. Parkin is accusing them of having “blood on their hands” and of being directly responsible for influencing the 16 year old who committed this tragic crime. Surely publicly accusing innocent people of being responsible for murder is not what Twitter is supposed to be used for. Further, Parkin refers to both Leah and Mike as “Nazis” amongst other horrible bigoted names.

Again, this Scientologist’s harassment and bullying site has been reported numerous times by multiple people with no response. Indeed, his recent tweet gloats that Leah Remini, herself reported him and nothing happened.

It is my firm opinion that it is the successful avoidance of removal of the @TarynTeutsch account has only emboldened Edward Parkin and given him the confidence to continue to carry out his campaign of hate, harassment, bullying and religious intolerance.

It is also my concern that whatever Jack Dorsey’s involvement is with Scientology he has conflicts that make it impossible for him to properly enforce fair and unbiased policy.

I am hereby respectfully asking that these two accounts, whose sole purpose is to harass and bully those who choose not to be Scientologists any longer be remove pursuant to the posted policy and rules that all on Twitter are expected to follow.

I am asking that this issue be addressed by those who have no connection to Scientology and/or David Miscavige so that these two accounts can be held accountable for their religious intolerance, lies, bullying and attempts to destroy the careers and reputations of innocent people.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Stefani A. Hutchison
