Nineteen years ago the United States experienced the worst terrorist attack in its history.
Senselessly, devastatingly and with pure evil, religious fanatics caused the deaths of thousands of people.
Fanaticism comes in many guises. The events in New York City, Arlington, VA and Shanksville, PA on September 11, 2001 demonstrated the very worst face of extremist activity.
While America mourned in shocked disbelief that day, another set of fanatical extremists saw not the horror and pain of unthinkable tragedy, but an opportunity for self aggrandizement. As first responders desperately struggled to face the nightmare battlefield that was once the World Trade Center, Scientology saw an opening for bragging rights and selfish interference.
COS’ Volunteer Ministers put out one of their ubiquitous Press Releases on the 19th anniversary of 9-11 in which they have the unmitigated gall to add themselves to the list of heroes from that day.
With the utmost hubris they lead their article with the quote; “The world owes a debt of gratitude to emergency workers who risked their lives at the World Trade Center in 2001 and the many thousands more who continue to do so at disaster sites every day.”
While they briefly, albeit unwillingly, offer a nod to the real heroic personnel who risked themselves that day, the bulk of this press release is an ode of praise to the Volunteer Ministers. Adding themselves to the roster of “emergency workers” to whom the world owes a debt of gratitude is so far beyond reality or reason it leaves the reader shocked into a dumbfounded loss for words.
Azhlynne’s Blog has often revealed the lies and staged photographs put out by Scientology. For the most part the issue has become one of laughable scorn.
Scientology’s actions on the day of the terrorist attacks as well as in the days that followed are no laughing matter, however. For Never Ins, it is imperative to shine a light on the truth of what COS did during that time. It is the best possible proof of the insidious, selfish and uncaring world that is Scientology.
Fanaticism has many faces, but the common denominator is the complete intolerance for anyone outside of the fanatic’s belief system.
Scientology’s press release leads the reader to believe the Volunteer Ministers were shoulder to shoulder with other first responders at Ground Zero.
Hubbard’s cult has long been known to hide behind fake names. They crept into Clearwater under a bogus organization name. Dozens of front groups act to misdirect the law and the public even today.
On the morning of 9/11 an organization calling itself “National Mental Health Assistance,” fooled Fox News into running their number across the screen on their broadcasts for five hours. People calling for help wound up speaking to representatives of Scientology on a hotline that peddled Dianetics.
Ironic that this ad was preceded by a banner reading “NYPD WARNS OF CRUEL SCAMS”.
Given that COS is as fanatical in their hatred of the psychiatric community as they are in the belief of their superiority over the rest of the world, their adoption of a mental health name is clearly meant to mislead. Additionally, it’s no coincidence that the name chosen by Scientology bears an uncanny similarity to a legitimate organization, The National Mental Health Association. How could this not have been an intentional misrepresentation?
Then there is the question of how they ended up at Ground Zero in the first place?
Consider the state of security of the United States immediately following the attacks.
The skies were eerily silent, patrolled only by military aircraft. Cellphone service was unavailable in many areas. Perimeters were established around not only the sites of the attacks, but also at various sensitive areas around the country. President Bush was placed under the strongest security protections.
As the dust slowly began to settle and search and rescue efforts began, officials were not letting just anyone wander about unrestricted.
Why would unknown people with no disaster training, no medical training or education and no credentials be permitted to get anywhere near the Trade Center site?
The fact is, they weren’t.
Emails from that terrible day were intercepted and later exposed. What they reveal is not a caring humanitarian partnership designed to help but a calculated disregard for security measures and the law. Added to this is an insidious, cold, determined attempt to hinder those needing specialized, professional care from obtaining it.
Scientology preyed upon the shellshocked, vulnerable first responders who, when faced with the worst mass murder imaginable, needed the support of specialists trained to provide to it.
“There was a very large barricade there manned by both Police and Military and they absolutely refused to let us though. The SO member in charge of the VM’s ‘snuck’ about 5 of us in another way and on the way we gave out cold drinks to tired rescue workers.”
These “heroes” defied both the police and the military in the midst of a terrorist attack on our country and slunk behind barricades set up to protect legitimate first responders.
Volunteer Ministers proceeded to place themselves right next to legitimate medical professionals in order to blend in, to camouflage the fact that they had no right or reason to be there. Passers by, seeing the yellow tents set up in that location would have no reason to question the authority of these unknown people’s presence.
“Soon thereafter we set-up an area for assists right there next to the medical area – outside. We put out 3 cots and we started body routing people in for nerve assists.”
Body routing people not only into the Scientology tent for bogus Hubbard tech, but leading them away from real support and aid.
“we are trying to move in and knock the psychs out of counseling to the grieving families and that could take another 100 plus people right now. Due to some brilliant maneuvering by some simply genius Sea Org Members we tied up the majority of the psychs who were attempting to get to families yesterday in Q&A, bullbait and wrangling. They have a hard time completing cycles of action and are pretty easy to disperse. But today they are out in full force and circling like vultures over these people and all of our resources are tied up in the support efforts in the disaster zone at present.“
Between the Sea Org members and the Volunteer Ministers, First Responders faced with an unprecedented level of death, mutilation and destruction were being misdirected away from the people they most needed. This is not humanitarian care, it’s deliberate cruelty.
Church of Scientology, the most ethical religion on the planet, scorns the other groups who arrived to provide spiritual aid. Groups who followed proper procedures to be allowed into the area.
“The other religions here with their ministers have shown their true colors and are working hand in hand with the psychs to give these people as much false data and restimulation as they can. They HAVE NO TECH and they’re not even trying to hide it anymore. They’ve crossed over and abandoned anything spiritual and to hell with them.”
While the Volunteer Ministers were sneaking around interfering with trained professionals the true religious organizations were doing what they could to offer spiritual support while still ensuring there was proper psychological care available.
Real people of faith understand the idea of humility.
Scientology’s CCHR subsequently added a new exhibit to their museum, Psychiatry: An Industry of Death, in which they claim 9/11 was a plot from Osama bin Laden’s top aide, an Egyptian psychiatrist, in order to spur antidepressant sales in the newly traumatized American public.
The madness of Scientology never ends.
As the Volunteer Ministers continue to pat themselves on the backs and announce that the world owes them a debt of gratitude, consider the realities of their actions. Did they display honest humanitarian care and concern for those so deeply affected by an unparalleled tragedy?
No.
Rather, Scientology showed once again their complete disregard for their fellow Man. Sneaking around, potentially placing those around them at risk by offering fake therapies is not charitable. Actively prohibiting suffering men and women from receiving professional care is not kind or heroic.
This was nothing more than one more opportunity for Scientology. One more use of a tremendous disaster as a tool for good PR.
Every time the VMs post a press release or a faked, staged photograph they are proving that they are in fact, useless.
Charlatans.
What is truly owed to this selfish, defiant cult is disgust and anger at their hijacking the pain and horror of a terrorist attack in order for them to feel good about themselves.
