Hijacking A Christian Holiday

“…you have to go civic, go outside Scientology, get support, organize committees, plot out campaigns, work for outside finance, etc.

Like any good corporation, Scientology jumps on the Christmas bandwagon, plotting out campaigns to draw people into their sphere of influence with the hope of eventually making a sale.

All pretense of religion aside, COS is a billion dollar entity and PR means everything. Scientology does whatever it can to force its unwanted presence into the lives of those around it even if it means trampling upon the most solemn and sacred of another religion’s beliefs.

True religions have their own history and spiritual events that give cause for believers to celebrate. Christians hold both Christmas and Easter as the highest and holiest of solemnities in spite of how materialistic they’ve become.

Underneath the commercialism Christmas is, at its core, one of the two foundation stones upon which Christianity rests. Jesus Christ, whom L. Ron Hubbard denied, disparaged and ridiculed, was born bringing hope of salvation to the world.

This is the root of Christmas.

Not having any sacred holy days of their own and needing to to appear inclusive and relevant, the “religion” who embodies the very antithesis of every Christian tenet crawls out of the woodwork each year to pay impious lip service to Christmas.

The outward trappings of the season are an amalgamation of many different traditions including pagan symbolism. It was Queen Victoria who made use of the Christmas tree popular, Prince Albert having brought the practice with him from his homeland. Yule logs harken from Anglo-Saxon pagan practices.

Each of these traditions however, have been adopted and raised higher by using them to represent the joy and hope of Christians around the world.

Scientology justifies their use of the Cross upon their buildings by claiming the symbol was in use long before Christianity embraced it.

Christ’s crucifixion forever locked the sign of the Cross into place as uniquely Christian. Whatever it may have once been, there is no doubt as to its purpose and meaning today. Scientology’s use of this most sacred symbol in no way raises or gives honor to it. Rather, it is an attack, a hostile conscription of something holy by something dark and evil.

In the same way, the celebration of Christmas in all its many traditions around the world, is still, at its core, Christian. Regardless that the tree and other evergreens were once used in the ancient celebrations of the Solstice. Christian tradition elevated these from symbols of the returning sun to the advent of The Son.

They have always represented hope for the people.

Scientology is the antithesis of hope.

COS, a cult that denies God, denies Christ’s salvation, brings out the decorations, sends out carolers, creates their Winter Wonderland and other events for no other reason than to further their false face of good to the world.

A recent Press Release issued by COS climbs upon the back of Clearwater Parks and Recreation’s decoration of the city’s downtown area as though they were responsible for it.

“From the Historic Fort Harrison to the Historic Clearwater Building, and the Humanitarian Centers sponsored by the Church of Scientology all received a touch of the Holidays from ‘the elves.’ The City of Clearwater Parks and Recreations and their volunteers helped to light up Cleveland Street by decorating the palm trees lining the street…”

If “the elves” are Santa’s helpers what does this make Clearwater Parks and Recreation?

Scientology inserts itself into the good CPR did exactly the same way it forces itself into Christianity, cheapening and infecting both with its taint.

Relegating them to subservient status.

Clearwater Parks and Recreation decorate their city to spread cheer to their citizens, to brighten their lives and add beauty and excitement during this time of celebration.

In its selfish, dirty way, Scientology takes something good and twists it into a tool.

“‘For those who love holiday themed photos, the community is invited to use the 102-year old Historic Clearwater building now housing the Scientology Information Center as their backdrop,’ said Amber Skjelset, Manager of the Scientology Information Center.”

“Guests who are curious about Scientology can come inside and learn about the Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, see short videos on the basic tenets of Scientology, take virtual tours of Churches around the world and learn about the humanitarian programs sponsored by Scientologists.”

Come.

Celebrate the birth of Jesus by involving yourself with the most heretical cult on the planet.

“No doubt you are familiar with the Revelations section of the Bible where various events are predicted. Also mentioned is a brief period of time in which the arch-enemy of Christ, referred to as the anti-Christ, will reign and his opinions will have sway … this anti-Christ represents the forces of Lucifer (literally, the ‘light-bearer’ or ‘light-bringer’), Lucifer being a mythical representation of the forces of enlightenment…. My mission could be said to fulfill the Biblical promise represented by this brief anti-Christ period.”
