The United Nations General Assembly has designated January 24 International Day of Education.
Recognized as a basic human right, education is key to combating poverty and establishing equality.
UNESCO’s website concurs, saying “Without inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong opportunities for all, countries will not succeed in achieving gender equality and breaking the cycle of poverty that is leaving millions of children, youth and adults behind.”
In keeping with L. Ron Hubbard’s policy on Public Image, Scientology has taken to the Internet pretending to celebrate and support the need for education and literacy.
Leland Thoburn, who completed the New OT VIII Course aboard Freewinds in 2019, added his contribution to Stand League’s blog supporting this worthy and necessary right.
Considering Scientology’s insistence that their Founder L. Ron Hubbard actually discovered “the laws on which learning is based” thus creating the absolute cure for illiteracy, Study Tech, Thoburn’s choice of topic is confusing.
Instead of using this opportunity to further extoll Study Tech and Applied Scholastics which, according to Scientology, “…uses methods that have proven to be effective at all levels of educational development” Thoburn lauds the one Faith his Founder hated above all others.
The Catholic Church.
Leland Thoburn’s article is basically a history lesson on how The Church improved society through education, social betterment and the preservation of knowledge.
Using a stunningly ironic quote Thoburn writes, “Into this void stepped the Church. As British historian Christopher Dawson wrote, ‘The Church had to undertake the task of introducing the law of the Gospel and the ethics of the Sermon on the Mount among peoples who regarded homicide as the most honorable occupation and vengeance as synonymous with justice.'”
L. Ron Hubbard scorned The Church, deriding and denigrating Her most sacred and holy beliefs. He dismissed Jesus as a “lover of boys” and smugly announced he’d been to Heaven, discovering that it was simply another implant station.
Amongst other policy directives one finds Hubbard’s R2-45.

Scientologists believe that the Thetan can operate separately from the body, this is known as “exteriorization”.
R2-45 is said to be a process by which exteriorization could be produced by shooting a person in the head with a .45 handgun.
Of course Scientology will insist that this was either meant as a joke by Hubbard or is simply not real, however there is one piece of inconvenient documentation that is hard to ignore.
Thus Scientology has as part of its scripture proof of a people regarding murder as an honorable occupation. Included in this it must be mentioned that COB David Miscavige instructed his private investigators to stand by and let his own father die if he had a heart attack.
As for the embrace of vengeance the policies of Fair Game, Disconnection and the writing of Knowledge Reports covers this subject most thoroughly.
Leland Thoburn apparently had no qualms of conscience as he noted Dawson’s statement.
Thoburn goes on to praise the Benedictines “monks taught people how to irrigate and cultivate the land and survive. They introduced crops such as corn. They taught people how to raise and breed cattle and horses; the making of cheese; beekeeping; the brewing of beer; salmon fishing; and the cultivation of fruits.”
What has Scientology done for the planet?
“The barren moral and intellectual landscape of post-apocalyptic Rome had been coaxed along by the goodness of man and the work of the Church.”
Today Scientology would reverse all of these good works accomplished by The Church.
COS’ directive to Clear the Planet means to ultimately recreate society into the image and likeness of L. Ron Hubbard; angry conman, immoral adulterer, violent domestic abuser and pathological liar.
Morality according to Scientology is that anything goes including crime, lies, hate and destruction as long as the cult stays solvent.
Where the Benedictines taught others to be self sufficient and independent Scientology’s form of education creates closed minded, dependent, hostile people.
Monks who were known for sacrifice, humility and discipline created a stronger, better society.
Scientology destroys families, bullies and harasses anyone who chooses free will and independent thought. COS leaves poverty and pain in its wake wherever it goes.
Thoburn notes “While the Renaissance would go in a very different direction from the Church, it was built on a foundation of knowledge and literacy nurtured by the Church to bridge the millennium between the fall of Rome and the rebirth of civilization.”
Scientology would clear the planet of this foundation, leaving obedient, compliant, ignorant indentured servants in its place.
COS’ constant hypocrisy never ceases to disturb and amaze. While verbally acknowledging peace, education, inclusion and tolerance they embrace the antithesis of each of these and more.
The Benedictines actually practiced what they preached. The world was a better place because they existed.
The same cannot be said about Scientology.
Confront And Shatter

This policy letter is included in the scientology book INTRODUCTION TO SCIENTOLOGY ETHICS. The cult’s concept of ethics is as skewed and as Orwellian as its conception of education is: in the “church” of scientology, ethics=criminality and education=indoctrination. As usual, scientology’s shallow public relations proclamations amount to lies and sociopathic posturing. They don’t care about education or religion or human rights or world hunger, but merely “position” themselves into alignment with causes and organizations that actually DO something tangible and positive in the world to address those real problems.

Hubbard’s goal was world domination. Scientology’s “public works programs” are just smokescreens for that whack, maniacal cult agenda. Hubbard’s mini-me, David Miscavige, is, at this stage of decline in the cult’s number of adherents, in it for the money and for the sadistic pleasure he derives from having thousands of deluded slaves at his beck and call…
All of the proof of this so-called church’s baked-in evil can be found in its books, courses, policies, and other writings. And, because scientologists are bound to following those writings without question or alteration or doubt, their actions, both individually and organizationally, are utterly predictable.

Just reading LRH pulp fiction from before 1940 is proof enough of his attitude towards everything. He was a very capable person of immense talent and knowledge… but it was misguided from an early age. I know that he usually played the game with a sort of quadruple-agent slant. As another hint to his character, he knew that his staff were living in abject poverty and yet he demanded that they triple the daily production and triple the funds that were sent to his bank accounts. He was a charismatic showman in public and a tyrant in private. He lied to us all and died unloved and alone with his millions. His actions directly led to the death of my father and the penury my mother endured as a result.
