It’s what they do best.
No other religion on the planet has so reformed smug, condescending enmity for the world around them to the level of virtue.
Humility has no place within the tenets Hubbard crafted. The arrogance of his followers, so self assured in their ignorance has no limit.
Lashing out in ugly superiority is as natural as breathing for this most ethical of religions.
That they have no understanding at all of the spiritual makes no difference. Religion is, after all, only a front, a shield and a tool.
Stand League’s contributor John Evans has presumed exponentially past his pay grade with his recent attack against The Sun’s Emma Parry.
Which of Parry’s articles offended is uncertain. Her most recent piece is about Tom Cruise installing an aggressive number of security cameras on his Clearwater penthouse. There is no “attack” against Scientology in the article though it is mentioned briefly.
Evans however found something, somewhere to twist his superior knickers in a knot and took to his word processor to call Emma out.
Just as Scientology has taken the Christian symbol of salvation, the Cross, and skewed it into a heretical parody, John Evans chooses to now use prayer as a snide weapon of sarcasm.
Prayer is not a tool of abuse.
It is not a scourge employed to hurt, shame or control.
The exhortation to pray for one’s enemies is one of the most difficult because it requires a level of love for others based on true selflessness.
Evans’ column is anything but an honest prayer.
It can’t be.
Prayer is communication between a soul and God.
Even Scientology acknowledges that in order for communication to take place there must be someone to receive the message, “…communication, defined as the interchange of ideas or objects between two people.”
As the cult has no real belief in God and no requirement for faith, there can BE no prayer.
John Evans “prayer” is actually a laundry list of scornful, sarcastic barbs. It is an inventory of Parry’s perceived character flaws that Evans, in his saintly perfection is able to identify and judge.
“May your sources no longer reflect your own bitter view of the world, but be themselves trustworthy with no axes to grind.”
He is not praying for his target, rather he is publicly attacking her and using God to justify hate.
This is Scientology.
Abuse is dogma for this cult; be it psychological, physical, emotional or spiritual.
Scientology is about tearing down, breaking apart and pain in whatever form is most convenient at the time. Nothing is sacred or off limits.
Fair Game states that an enemy is to be destroyed “by whatever means necessary“. This includes using something meant to draw one closer to God in love as a weapon of Pride and pain.
John Evans patronizingly writes, “May your own self-respect be reflected by your commitment to truth over lies, and accuracy over clickbait.”
Scientology is not a religion.
They have NO concept of the spiritual.
Scientology is the antithesis of anything religion stand for.
Mr Evans, we leave you with an example of true prayer.
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
